Saratoga, WY (SAA)

6/30/2001

Saratoga is a just a little over an hour's flight northwest of Boulder.  We cruised up there for breakfast.  The day was hot, even early, so turbulance was continuous, especially on the way back home.   The nice thing is that the town is only a mile from the airport and the nearest restaurant only about 1/2 mile.  There's a golf course adjacent to the airport and I'm told that it's a good place to play.  I don't indulge in golf so I can't offer an opinion, but it does look nice.

Saratoga Aviation is the FBO and I can't remember a more grim welcome.  But, they did provide a tie-down, quick fuel service and a courtesy car.  Once inside the building, the facilities were very nice.  Here are some photo highlights.

Saratoga Aviation.  Service with a frown.

Sue claims this is the worst courtesy car she's been in, but have seen worse.

The Lazy River Cantina where we had breakfast.  Good, basic food at a great price.

We didn't eat at Mom's, but it looks interesting.  Easy walking distance from the airport.
