Our Wings

A 1960 Cessna 182 (Skylane). We're based in Boulder, CO (1V5).  1V5.jpg (52414 bytes) We,(as in me - Alan, my wife Sue and the two Dirtbags,) live in the mountains west of Boulder at 7800'. In addition to flying, the dogs have plenty of room to run and chase bears, chipmunks, rabbits, deer and anything else that moves.

Are we there yet?  The dogs jump right in the back seat and occasionally sit up to look out the window during flights.  The same as when they are in the car.  I don't have them restrained - my personal preference and in all the years of flying with them, we've never had a problem.  They never try to get in the front seat, again, just like in the car.  I also try to avoid taking them into nasty conditions like turbulence although sometimes that's impossible.   But, they've never "flown" around the cabin or caused difficulties.  In fact, they've never puked in the plane (or in the car) but occasionally do drool!  I always carry a water dish and water bottles for them, too.  And of course, the obligatory dog treats.

Flight Destinations

Sometimes for breakfast, sometimes for long week-ends,  sometimes just for fun.  Flying gives us the freedom to explore the small, sometimes close-to-forgotten towns in Colorado, Wyoming & Nebraska. Or,  zip down to New Mexico for hiking, food and art.
