Buddy's First Flight

September 24, 2006

It was time.  Buddy had been with us for about 5 weeks and a perfect flying morning materialized so I figured we should take the plunge.  He does great in the car so I hoped the airplane would not cause him any great distress.  I was prepared to abort even as we taxied if he exhibited any anxiety about this adventure.   Any doubts were soon put to rest.   He went up the ramp into the plane without just a simple coaxing command and settled into the back seat.   He didn't get nervous about the noise when I started up the engine and then did our run-up.   He sat up and looked out the window as we took-off and then layed down with his head on the dog ramp behind the front seats.   From time to time he would sit up with Idgie and they both would look at me from the back seat between the two front seats.  I managed to get some pics of the two of them by just taking a guess with the camera.  No,  I didn't let go of the yoke and turn around!    Here are some highlights.

Pre-flight What am I doing back here and where are we going?
Just checking to see that you're on the right course heading. Buddy looks pretty stressed out about the flight!
A great day!  Nederland/Barker Reservoir/Eldora Ski Area New Belgium Brewing Co in Fort Collins - Fat Tire anyone?
